I returned to Brussels on Sunday after a month of travels in exotic and warm lands south of the equator. The re-entry shock upon arrival in Belgium was a lot greater than the 27 degree Centigrade drop in outdoor air temperature. After a month of only very limited reception of Russian news, due to satellite issues and hotel service issues, last night I switched on Russian state television’s news and talk show “Sixty Minutes” on www.smotrim.ru and got a full blast of the current state of relations with the US, which are very close to Doomsday.
Allow me to share with you the key point, namely the soon to be announced changes to the Russian doctrine on first use of nuclear weapons and their new more precise red lines that have come about from the plans for Russia’s partition and destruction that seem to be aired daily on US television.
As usual, Yevgeny Popov, State Duma member and host of “Sixty Minutes,” put a lot of video segments from Western television up on the screen, including a lengthy statement by Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, former commander of all U.S. forces in Europe from 2014 to 2017, on how the Ukrainians must be given long range precision missiles for them to attack Russian Crimea and also further into the Russian heartland. The interview from which this declaration was made does not yet appear in Google search, but from interviews posted in 2022 it is clear that Hodges is no madman, and his statements must, as Popov said, be taken with utmost seriousness.
The context, of course, for the radical escalation now being discussed in the United States is the expectation of a massive Russian offensive to begin shortly as the anniversary of the Special Military Operation approaches. The imminent defeat of Ukrainian forces has focused minds in Washington.
One of the regular panelists on “Sixty Minutes” then faced the cameras directly and said that Russia’s nuclear doctrine is under revision in light of these aggressive plans being aired in the United States, so that Russia is headed towards a policy of ‘preventive’ tactical nuclear strikes, similar to what the United States has. Moreover, if Ukraine targets Crimea and heartland Russia, then Russia will respond according to plans now being laid down. These plans foresee counter strikes against U.S military installations in Europe and in the Continental United States using hypersonic missiles. The panelist calls for this threat of counter strikes in Europe and the US to be made public and explicit, so that no one is in doubt about what to expect from the Kremlin.
So here we are. The Russians are stripping away the fiction of a proxy war and revealing the co-belligerent status of the US and its NATO allies in preparation for a kinetic war with NATO. As our illustrious former President, a man of few words, would say: “Not good!”
Allow me also to share with my readership the bitter medicine that I just shared with our daughter: look for an escape hatch!
Either, as I fervently hope, there will be an anti-war movement in the USA, in Europe arising from the shock therapy news now developing with respect to the coming kinetic war between NATO and Russia, OR failing that, it will be every man for himself.
Back in 1937 there were Jews in Berlin who decided they could ride out the storm and stay put. There were others who took the first boats out, to England, to the US, to South America. All of us in the Northern Hemisphere now may be facing the same existential choice.

Well in any case, should the “Perp’s” in DC get targeted for what they originally started, there is some positive news from all this…
World Crime statistics would suddenly drop! Though I must add, that a lot of totally innocent dogs would die as collateral damage. As far as DC or the Death Cult in WARshington? “Let the dead bury the dead, your eye is to feel no sorrow.”
I’m not sure where this Cabal got the impression, that they in ‘someway’ own the entire planet?
I chose rural Mexico and would recommend it to anyone. Lots of people fleeing here at the moment from all over the world but especially the US and Europe. Happy to answer any questions.
Tell me more. I am considering leaving the US when I soon retire. No issues with drug cartels where you are?
No, none at all. Mexico is a huge country and the regions can be very distinct. Think of how different Idaho and New Jersey are, for example, and you get the idea.
I´m in Yucatan which is absurdly safe. It´s also cheap, full of culture, friendly and has a selection of great environments in which you can settle, from colonial towns and jungle, to modern suburbs and beach living.

I make mine your illustrous President words “Not good”.
I posted a lengthy reply yesterday but it doesn’t seem to have appeared. Basically, look into the Yucatan region of Mexico. It ticks all the boxes and is absurdly safe by ay standard. No cartel presence whatsoever.

China should implement such doctrine as well.. but first must up nukes 10x.
What for? Even the “few” Chinese nukes would be enough to start a war (if they want to) that involves all the other nuclear powers. And their potential of destruction is above 20 x the world’s surface. I think that’s why the Chinese government is not investing much into such weapons, because they know (and it’s a very simple calculation) that it does make sense to build weapons of which they would not be able to start more than 10%.
Your piece accurately defines the moment. However, there are some of us who already know that death and destruction takes many paths, some unknown to many at this time. We will NOT survive as a civilisation through all the missteps that are now being made in general. Death comes by some means to us all. If anyone survives, it will be due somewhat to pure luck of the draw, and to plans for survival if they work. The ones left will start over again down the same old road, as we see from the archaeological records.
The main question is not if the neoc(low)ns are getting the right message from Russia, but if they are psychopaths enough to really want a nuclear Armaggedon. Just a couple of years ago, i would say they’re just very greedy and a bit psycho. Now, not sure anymore about the order.
I would ask they limit their NA targets to the Den of Criminals and Turdo’s home. I’m in no shape to run or hide right now.
It will make no difference if you are 10, 100, 1000 or 10,000 miles away. There are still enough nuclear weapons to destroy the surface of the world more than 20 times. Even if they would limit their use to one total destruction: fallout and radiation and the nuclear winter will make Earth into a place where no-one will want (or even be able) to live.
Sorry to inform you about a mistake, Mr. Doctorow.
Once the first western rocket hits an important target in Crimea, one of the new members of the Russian Union or Russia itself and is answered with a tactical nuclear weapon, the game is over.
There is no such thing as a nuclear war that can be stopped half way down the road to total destruction of the earth. Especially, when one side, the West, already knows that losing the “little” war in Ukraine will end its almost 500 years of bloody hegemony over the world: The money imperium ($ and a little bit €, £ and some other typed depending on the US hegemony) is already on the way down. The only possible reaction by the imperium (which already proved to be not able to win any war since Vietnam) especially against groups of states, not just single small and rather defenseless states (like Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya…), is the “nuclear option”. They may want to provoke the Russians to make the first strike, and they may hope to survive in their bunkers …
But I am convinced: If you really think about the consequences of a world-wide nuclear war, you surely would not want to survive it. Dozens of years of nuclear winter, hundreds of years of starving in radioactive environment causing cancer and crippled babies. A living standard under that of the stone age (because nature was intact then).
You don’t want to survive this war. Not in Europe or Northern America (there, surely no-one will, not even in bunkers), and not in New Zealand or any other “distant” place, because NONE is “distant” enough to escape from the fall-out and radiation.
Unfortunately, I don’t see ANY western politician (not the puppets of the MIC in Washington and surely not among their hostages, the “sub”-puppets in western politics) who would be willing to stop such a war. Because the believe their own propaganda, that they will belong to the few to “survive” and reign the world “afterwards” – or because they are willing to die the death of “heroes” protecting “democracy” (of the stockholders) and the “freedom” (of the capitalists).
So: We’re doomed. Already. Practically, we are dead already, most of us just didn’t get or understand these “news”.
Since when does the government of the United States ever listen to anyone else’s voice but their own? The Russians have time and again made their views clear and rarely followed up on their threats. It’s what they do. So between the two of them it’s anyone’s guess as Russian seems reluctant to act and is still cleaning the sand off her face from the Moscow sinking and inner mainland attacks where we KNOW the United States was involved providing weapons, intelligence and tactical data to get the job done.
The one thing I do understand is I would rather Russia nuke the hell out of the west than live 20 or 30 years under the jackboot and hive mind of the global cabal and I hope the Russians have the appropriate weapons aimed at Denver and Davos and all the other rats nests the filthy rich plan to escape their evil. But then again with Mr. Putin’s memberships in some exclusive clubs this may all be just another feint. Or particular Russian patience. Russia could have and should have dominated Ukraine months ago and should have stuck hard while the iron was hot. Certainly isn’t like Russian field doctrine I learned about. I had my suspicions when the Israeli’s shot down one of their IL-20’s with nary a peep and didn’t even provide it with an escort. This bullcrap just doesn’t make sense if you’re trying to win a war but perhaps that isn’t their goal.
