Donald Trump’s first Presidential term was marked by extreme volatility due to his paranoid personality, although the leitmotiv of his mandate was to implement a Presidential State with a clearly autocratic hue, an Orwellian form of Government that could crystallize after the Presidential Elections of 2024.

With Trump having omnipotent power in his upcoming presidency, he will be able to implement a dystopian dictatorship that will incorporate the paternalistic overtones of a soft dictatorship; and that might explain his cryptic message to the Christian communities: “Christians, go out and vote. Just this once. You won’t have to do it anymore… in four more years, it will be solved, everything will be fine. No, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians.”

The new Trumpian system of government will be characterized by the cult of the leader, censorship in the media, and Orwellian surveillance of a population that rejects his postulates.

Likewise, he has promised the mass expulsion of undocumented immigrants, making use of the US Alien Enemies Act that dates back to 1798. President-elect Donald Trump has promised large-scale deportations that could affect close to 15 million illegal immigrants.

The Insurrection Act

The so-called Insurrection Act that was passed by the U.S. Congress on March 3, 1807, is a “federal law authorizing the use of land and naval forces of the United States in cases of insurrection”; however, the Act is ambiguous enough to include peaceful demonstrations that do not fit the description of disorder, insurrection or rebellion.

For his new presidential term, Trump is therefore considering implementing an Orwellian government and bringing back to life the Insurrection Act of 1807 to contain the foreseeable outbreaks of citizen revolt by calling the National Guard and the Army to the streets, thus creating an unprecedented political scenario, a negative dystopia that will mean the end of the decadent U.S. democracy.
