Wayne takes a different approach, working meticulously from the original text to find the balance between faithfulness and readability. He preserves the "bob-and-wheel" metrical structure where word choice allows it, keeps archaic pronouns like "thee" and "thou" to maintain the feel of Arthurian legend, and confronts the difficulties of the source dialect head-on rather than working around them.
