Scott McConnell, Foreword by Philip Weiss
Scott McConnell is a former neoconservative, a Columbia Ph.D. who contributed frequently to Commentary and National Review and was editorial page editor of the New York Post. In the mid 90s, the Cold War over, his views began to change. Pat Buchanan’s critiques of the GOP establishment made sense to him, as did various liberal criticisms of free trade and growing inequality. In 2002, with Buchanan and Taki Theodoracopulos, he founded The American Conser-vative, a magazine intended to challenge the neocon hegemony over the Right in foreign and domestic policy. He edited the magazine for six years, and writes for it regularly. The foreword is by journalist Philip Weiss, Founder of the news website “Mondoweiss.”
